Alisha. 22. Lived in California my whole life and I don't think I'd be able to handle weather that wasn't "moderate." Journalism major/Music Business minor. Music. Books. Parks and Recreation. Arrested Development.
It’s not the little incentives, like free stickers, and pins and shit, that keep me purchasing music and clothes from independent labels (yes purchasing, as in paying legitimate money for things). It’s not the fact that they price their records fairly even though it’ll mean they don’t make much, if anything, from the sales. It’s the hard working bands they chose to sign, and the appreciation they show the people who support them. I got home to find this No Sleep necklace in the mail today, completely unrelated to any order I’ve placed recently. They didn’t have to send me anything I didn’t pay for (keep in mind it’s even got my name on it. Badass.), though I admit I’ve probably spent more than a few paychecks on their site. Labels like No Sleep, Run For Cover, Topshelf, Paper + Plastick, Count Your Lucky Stars, Animal Style, and Black Numbers are where you should go to first, because not only is everything they sell quality, but you know it’s appreciated. Fuck places like Hot Topic and their awful neon colored shirts where every band uses the same font, and half the records are warped or broken.

Anyway, that’s my rant I guess. Off to work I go.
